About Diane Powers

Career highlights past and present

Based in Illinois, Diane Powers, PMP, has spent the last two decades building an accomplished career as an account manager and director of business development. Employed by Brella Productions, she works in a creative agency at AbbVie on a consulting and contractual basis. In this role, she is a key decision maker and leader supporting the immunology sales division for the firm’s highest-level clients. Diane Powers is responsible for developing all of the creative materials that pertain to these projects and collaborating with other teams to deliver them. She applies her problem-solving skills to successfully manage each of these projects.

Previously, Abbott Diagnostics contracted Ms. Powers to lead marketing efforts for its multibillion-dollar diagnostics division. As a senior project manager, she created branding and marketing materials for seven of the firm’s latest product launches. As part of this rollout, she launched an ambitious global marketing strategy for Abbott’s new Alinity system and the accompanying ALINIQ software program. Her innovative solutions and keen insight helped the firm to save over $1.5 million as it rolled out all seven of its new products.

In 2015 she went on to join the Johnson Service Group. As a project engineer, she guided cross-functional teams through small- and large-scale projects. Most notably, she oversaw the split of the IT network between the AbbVie and Abbott facilities. During other IT projects, she was responsible for organizing project activities to align with emerging company priorities and budgetary requirements.

Ms. Powers earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Southern Illinois University and studied design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2015, she obtained certification as a PMP from the Project Management Institute.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Powers has volunteered for the annual ShareFest since 2004. In this capacity, she lends her expertise as a project manager and PR specialist to bolster the community event.
